Nic Ekla, member of the Belgian bands Les Brochettes and Ming, releases his second solo album with Dokidoki. Black poetry, synthetic new-wave. At random stories told in the twelve songs of Soulstreet cross smugglers, a child-eating colossus, a young girl and cursed lovers; vehicles and hearts explode; cities go up in flames and planes crash; Love passes, betrayal is general. A nineteenth century romanticism crosses the noir novel, the no-future is elegiac.

Wilf Plum, ex-drummer of the post-punk Dog Faced Hermans provides bass, guitar and backing vocals throughout the album, and accompanies LEM on stage. Felix Kubin, mad scientist of German electronics, plays the keyboard on “Les Avions”, a cover of a 1997 Brochettes song. Also invited, Arthur Rimbaud for an adaptation of “what we say to the poet about flowers”, and Elli & Jacno for a revival of the “Boomerang” of 82, a rereading of what was then called “the revolt”.
