Kuwayama Kiyoharu and Rina Kijima were a Japanese improvisational duo recording as kuwayama-kijima mainly active from the time of their formation in 1999 through that of their last release, “Shrine” in 2005. The “Shrine” L.P. was recorded in collaboration with Carter Thornton and released on Mr. Thornton’s own Conduit Creations label and was also available in a special edition limited to 50 copies which included a hand-numbered bonus CDr.

The site specific, acoustic performances of Kuwayama-Kijima generally occurred at midnight in construction areas, abandoned and ruined urban spaces.

Kuwayama Kiyoharu continues to record as Lethe his own name as well as under his own name.
