Traditional topics familiar from the media take on a new perspective: the church, politics, the father’s position in the family, immigrants. The environment, revival movements (Laestadianism) and the Finns Party also receive special attention. The best part is that when you get lulled into thinking just like that, give those others a ride, the next thing you do is find yourself being ridiculed.
The change of direction in many directions feels fresh. To some extent, things become obsolete because these are often drawn on current topics. I can’t be offended or think that something is so sacred or silent that it shouldn’t be drawn. The pictures are not drawn with the intention of insulting but have a clear and audible message. Instead of confronting the truth of the drawing, it may be easier to turn the conversation to the draughtsman and his motives.
While browsing, I began to think about freedom of expression, freedom of religion, social justice, and family equality. Pretty big thoughts from such a small book! I’ll say that too: I guess the beach is the best thing ev.lut. What has happened in the church’s media debate for decades.
