Tina Hart’s roving “military brat” childhood steeped her in influences ranging from Cajun to Folk-Rock to raw porch music. Tina [then, Christine Juvrud] performed in New England with Fertile Ground during the 1990’s and recorded her first solo CD, “Planting That Seed in Their Heads”, with future husband, Bret H. Hart producing, at Toad Hall Studio in 1997. After moving to Eden, NC in 1998, Tina, Bret, guitarist/fiddler/wood-flautist Bryan Songbear Smith, banjoist Jim Eanes, and percussionist Scotty (aka: Clang Quartet) Irving gigged in North Carolina in various configurations – The Harts, Barbwire Hearts, The Cat’s Pants – between 1998-2004. Tina released her stark, self-produced, solo project, ‘Gettin’ Over It’ on HipWorks in 2005.

This is Bret Hart’s wife, and in the main her songs are on the bluesy side. At times I’m reminded of Michelle Shocked, especially on The Rondezvous. The majority of the songs are written solely by Christine, except for I Wanna Fly, which is co-written by a T Smith, and is one of the more rockish songs here. Let Go is another rockish song but it’s also equally bluesy. Bret Hart is one of the backing musicians here, but there’s none of the quirk-factor or downright weirdness that many of Bret’s own songs have. This is straightforward, traditional singer/songwriter stuff.”
