“The songs I wrote for this record stem from my experiences in education as a middle school teacher. I have had to intervene and report instances of child rape and forced prostitution in this “All America City”, and have learned verifiable things about the feeder-community that are appalling, and permitted to persist through collective silence. In many respects, this is one of the most morally bereft and self-deluding places I have ever experienced. Television -THE DRUG- rules virtually everyone, and their true values derive from it. Organized violence and one’s ability to get away with it are applauded. Our children are growing up in a nation where it has become increasingly dangerous to be a kid. Without going into a lot of detail here about where my sensitivities stem from, I want to say that I will side with a neglected or abused child every time, and have. This project is faith-in-action, a truth telling; The Bad Guy will do everything in his power to keep you from listening to it.” -BHH
