“Tweet The Birdy Electric” marks the beginning of a long term relationship between Sam Britton and Ollie Bown (aka Icarus) and The Leaf Label. It’s a record that sees a myriad experimental and compositional disciplines intertwined through the use of sound manipulation, electro-acoustic dynamics and 21st Century improvisation. In turns relying on musical conceits borrowed from experimental electronica, folktronica and avant-garde song writing, it’s perhaps most reminiscent in places to the work of Scandinavia’s Supersilent collective or Kieren Hebden’s Four Tet project at its most abstract.
