Based on a series of images taken by Olivier Hensi in Thessaloniki, Troika is a work born of questions about the violence of the photographic gesture in the context of a Greece caught in the spotlight of tourist fantasy and the European economy. It was a question of finding a relation between the gesture of the hand and that of the eye in the creation of images, to find how to make images that take a position, on their status and their implications. The three parts in the colours of the Belgian and German flags, consists of two notebooks of photos respectively black and red in dialogue with the central yellow notebook, imitations of the photographs made by Thomas Perrodin. The whole thing is contained in a screen-printed hard postal pouch. Troika annoys the troika, the G7, 8 20, the COP and all those managers of misery who hide behind their (doctored) account sheets.
