For her participation in the Dans la marge project, Isabelle Boinot created a series of portraits previously made on coloured paper. The drawings were then cut out and reassembled directly on the notebook, thus offering 32 hybrid compositions between line work and surrealist collage.

For several years now, Effi Mild and Laurent Zorzin – at the origin of the Arts Factory gallery – have entrusted the artists whose work they have presented with a 32-page school notebook, a witness to their passage in one of the 200 or so exhibitions in their space. Their mission: to take this little souvenir with them, leave it lying around for the necessary time in their studio, then without any constraint of theme or technique, return it to the sender decorated with unpublished drawings…
