“Notes from sleeve: this object is designed to decay.
The flexible record is susceptible to folds and creases and is therefore the ideal format for opuscule #100. As the needle slips into the locked groove the music will play infinitely. The more it is played, the more the sound will evolve as your stylus wears through the soft, thin vinyl and carves its own groove. This jacket is made of photo-sensitive blueprints and, in time, will also decay. If left in the sun it will become faded, brittle, and will tear easily.
The mediums are already transforming. The details are beginning to erode. Soon it will be a mass of carbon and polymers, destined for landfill like most of our civilization. Cycle after cycle, all things decay.”
