Double DVD release documenting a sound installation dealing with the suburb Muelheim in the City of Cologne. Based on field recordings, interviews with the population and photographs the sound/video-installation presented a very personal but nevertheless insightful portrait of this diverse urban area. The sound installation was commissioned by kulturbunker muelheim e.v. as part of the festival muelheim klingt in 2005.

“Mülheim is a district of Cologne, Behrens bringing to our attention aspects that could be normally perceived as «regular» – a bridge suspended on the river, traffic, kids playing in a courtyard, a flea market, a dirty beach. But he does it by vivisection of both their pictorial qualities and sounds, the latter rendered fascinatingly impenetrable thanks to his knowledgeable methods of alteration.”
