“Project of an activist of dub and drum and bass parties in the south of France, the deviant lounge is an unclassifiable album, between jazz, trip-hop and electro. The rhythms are close to acoustic percussion techniques but with more electronic sounds than the usual stretched skins. Snare drums sometimes snap amid sounds of percussion less acute, but the assembly of beats is thought out despite the absence of breaks yet very fashionable in current productions. It seems that the DJ stopped on beats deviating from trip-hop and dub, rather than drum and bass. Some tracks offer us a jazzy saxophone, always in a cave reverb atmosphere sometimes a little scary, which associated with Some repetitive rubbed strings in tablecloths, creates a dark and disturbing atmosphere.”
