Long string improvisations recorded with the help of Het Apollohuis. Guitars and feedback singing overtones.
1. Flexitar.
Two guitars are joined together with long piano wires and an elastic cord. The long strings are amplified. While playing the guitar strings, the players tune the sounds they make by gently pulling and releasing the elastic cord.
2. Het Vogelbekkenstuk.
Consists of two instruments, each constructed from two wooden beams with a hinge on one end. A string and spring are stretched between the beams, thus forming a triangle. On the lower beam an amp is placed, with the sound volume turned up, so that the amplified string produces feedback sounds. The concept of the piece is that the performers stand as still as possible.
3. Strip Music.
Is played on 2 aluminium staves, hanging from the ceiling, each on a spring and string. The string is amplified. The sounds are tuned by pulling and releasing the aluminium, and it is made to resonate with human hair, voices, fingers and thin sticks.
