“The idea for this comic came about in late 2002 (when i was sketching out ideas for a planned large scale art project called The History Of Electronic Music which was centred around the idea of making portraits of friends, colleagues and historical figures who were electronic music makers) – and it happened in the shape of a quick sketch on the idea of a comic on the life and works of Pierre Schaeffer.
Early in 2008, i had a meeting with Maximilian Moulettes who is the head of the record label Komplott here in Malmö and he approached me with an offer to produce a comic magazine for his label which puzzled me at first but after a while i realised that this was an opportunity to bring the old Pierre comic idea into life. Shortly after that it also dawned upon me that i wanted to expand the story on all the characters that were in the above mentioned book in the shape of a comic and there you have the basic plan for Very Friendly! Back in 2002 i had also made some sketches for a autobiographical comic on my first visit to Trondheim to meet the , ahem… legendary Lasse Marhaug which in its finished form will be included in the first issue.”
